Genesee Valley Canal Anniversary Bike Ride

On Sept. 1, 1840, a huge celebration marked the opening of this first major section of the Genesee Valley Canal. Retrace the route a celebrating canal boat took that day from Mount Morris to Piffard. Instead of a canal boat on the prism, you'll go by bike on the grassy trail, there and back. Bring a picnic dinner. Bring your own bike, helmet and picnic dinner. Meet at Rt 408, Mount Morris (GPS Coords: 42.725692, -77.872055). (15 miles) (cb)
