Full Moon Phenology: Sturgeon Moon
Friday, August 28, 2026 07:30 PM - 08:30 PM
It's o-fish-al! The Sturgeon Moon swims through the Sky again! Celebrate the seasonal changes that arrive with this Moon on our walk. Full moons are named for the seasonal phenomenon that they have historically coincided with. Make observations under the glow of moonlight on this dog-friendly moony meander with a naturalist to see if the Moon lives up to its monthly moniker. Note: Different cultures have their own names for each full moon. July and September's programs will be at Hamlin Beach while August's program will be at Lakeside State Park. Walks at Lakeside are about 2 miles and meet at the front left of Day Use parking area (GPS Cords: 43.367153, -78.243281). Registration is not required.
