Resilient Earth, Resilient Communities Interactive Exhibit

Wednesday, August 12, 2026 09:00 AM - 04:00 PM

Thacher State Park is hosting the Resilient Earth, Resilient Communities exhibit at the Emma Treadwell Thacher Nature Center from July 10 to August 21. The exhibit is open Tuesdays-Sundays, 9am-4pm. The exhibit explores how, through careful observation, we gather vital information that helps us prepare for the future and build stronger, more resilient communities. Created by the U.S. National Science Foundation's National Center for Atmospheric Research, the traveling exhibit features interactive stations and educational display panels detailing weather patterns and changing landscapes. The exhibition also explains how communities and scientists contribute to the knowledge of our planet and prepare for hazardous weather conditions. While displayed at Thacher, the exhibit will feature region-specific elements including information about the New York State Mesonet and the New York State Hemlock Initiative. Exhibit elements are appropriate for children and adults.
Registration: Not required
