Old Croton Aqueduct State Historic Park
Movies on the Trail Gridiron Classics series has some fun tricks up its sleaves in The Replacements, as we check in on Shane Falco and the Washington Sentinels! After all the professional football players go on strike for more money, the owners scour the globe for replacement players to keep the leagues season alive. Their reward? A motley crew of characters from all walks of life led by a washed up, formerly great college quarterback. Will Falco rally his team of misfits to get to the playoffs all while coming to terms with his own professional life! All movies are shown on the east lawn of the Keeper's house and are free of charge! Patrons are encouraged to bring their own refreshments and a chair or blanket to lay on. 8:30pm-10:30pm, Location: Keepers House, Dobbs Ferry, Free, Ages: All Ages.

Note: $10 parking fee/car (cash only) from May - Labor Day. Enjoy a free, easy, 2 miles/hours (total) loop hike north along the Aqueduct and atop the beautiful Croton Dam. Meet near the restrooms at the rear (south end) of the parking lot at Croton Gorge Park, Rte. 129, Croton, NY. 10567, GPS Coordinates: 41.22603, -73.85770. The leader of the hike will discuss the history and construction of the Old Croton Aqueduct and the features of the Croton Dam, the trailhead of the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail. The Aqueduct was completed in 1842 to supply fresh water to a thirsty New York City. (From Metro-North Hudson Line Croton-Harmon Train Station: 15-minute taxi.) Movies on the Trail Gridiron Classics can pull at some heart strings too with the showing of The Blind Side, which follows the relationship of the Tuohy family and Michael Ohr. Where a wealthy, white family took a homeless African American kid into their home. Their support opened up a new life and family for Michael, but also a new interest, football. Now, Michael Ohr is now remembered as a former 1st-round pick and starting offensive tackle in the NFL. All movies are shown on the east lawn of the Keeper's house and are free of charge! After a brief walk, descend into the Weir in Ossining and explore the original 1842 brick water tunnel and learn its history. This tour is designed to be an engaging, story-driven experience and is not suitable for children under 10. We ask that all guests—regardless of age—are able to remain attentive and respectful, as disruptions can affect the experience for the group. Walk may be rescheduled if weather does not cooperate. Good or bad, every kid deserves the right to play sports if they want, but sometimes, there isn't enough space on the team, or worse, parents control who gets to play! When a group of kids weren't picked for the peewee football team, including the coach's star niece, Becky, they set out to form their own team from town misfits and castaways! With the help from Becky's nerdy dad... and a bus load of NFL Allstars, they'll try to turn this team into a winner! Will the Little Giants be able to beat the hated Cowboys? Free, easy, open-air walk of approximately 3 miles/hours. Meet at Aqueduct Ventilator #12, on the Aqueduct Trail just steps south of the intersection of Gory Brook Road and Ridge Street in Sleepy Hollow (on-street parking on Gory Brook Road north of intersection). We will walk north and discuss the Aqueduct and view some of its structures, including a weir, a 90-foot high embankment carrying the Aqueduct over the Pocantico River, the ghostly remnants of an old Keeper's House, touch upon Rockefeller history and the monument in nearby Sleepy Hollow Cemetery to those in the NY Guard's First Provisional Regiment who perished during the 1918 Spanish Influenza pandemic while guarding the Aqueduct during The Great War.
